WHO WE ARE



The Four Corners Journalism Fund (FCJF) supports journalism that connects and informs more than 200,000 people across 6 counties in Southwest Colorado and Northwest New Mexico — including the communities served by The Durango Herald (Durango, CO), The Journal (Cortez, CO), and The Tri-City Record (Farmington, NM). FCJF is a designated fund managed by the Community Foundation Serving Southwest Colorado (a 501(c)(3) nonprofit). It was launched in late 2025 by Ballantine Communications, Inc.

Our reporting spans five counties and more than 15,000 square miles of mountains, deserts, and rural towns. This area includes Indigenous lands, farming and ranching communities, and some of the most unique energy and outdoor economies in the country. The six counties include five in Colorado (Montezuma, Dolores, La Plata, San Juan, Archuleta) and one in New Mexico (San Juan).
